WP2 - Advanced imaging using mechanical waves Lead Beneficiary - BAM
The main objective is to develop new tools for signal processing, in providing better signal quality and lower data transfer needs adapted to the sensor type used in WP1 and the cases studied in WP3 (urban soil applications, integrity testing of industrial products, condition assessment of structures). Methodologies and open access tools (algorithms and software) will be developed:
i. For event detection, localisation and characterisation within a single framework, based on the exploitation of full wave propagation characteristics instead of simple features.
ii. To reliably map engineering properties in the near surface earth.
iii. To detect and characterise small changes in a medium, with a focus on sensibility and sensitivity.
