Scenocosme x USES2

About Scenocosme

Scenocosme is a French artistic duo composed of Grégory Lasserre and Anaïs met den Ancxt. Their work explores the subtle relationships between living beings, natural elements, and digital technologies.

Through interactive installations, Scenocosme transforms invisible phenomena—such as touch, energy flow, or biological signals—into immersive experiences combining sound, light, and responsive environments.

Their internationally exhibited artworks question the boundaries between human and non-human systems, making technology emotionally tangible.

When Art meets Embedded sensors

Within the European project USES2, Scenocosme collaborated with the doctoral candidates to transform scientific sensing technologies into artistic creations.

By integrating advanced ultrasonic and seismic embedded sensors into interactive installations, this collaboration:

  • Reveals hidden vibrations of materials and structures

  • Translates structural signals into sound and light

  • Bridges structural health monitoring and artistic expression

  • Encourages doctoral researchers to explore creativity beyond traditional scientific frameworks

This partnership embodies USES2’s commitment to interdisciplinary innovation and creative dissemination.

From structural data to artistic experience

In this collaboration, scientific instrumentation becomes a poetic medium. Signals typically used for infrastructure monitoring are reinterpreted as artistic material.

Structural vibrations are no longer only diagnostic data — they become soundscapes, light pulses, and interactive responses.

This approach expands the perception of infrastructure, turning engineered systems into living, responsive presences.

Training School exhibition

During the USES2 Training School, Scenocosme will present an exclusive exhibition showcasing the artworks developed in collaboration with the doctoral candidates.

Visitors will experience:

  • Interactive installations powered by USES2 sensor technologies

  • Real-time translation of structural data into artistic forms

  • A dialogue between engineering precision and sensory perception

This exhibition demonstrates how advanced sensing research can engage wider audiences through experiential formats.
